Sayen House and Gardens in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, was created in 1912 by Frederick Sayen, a passionate world traveler and gardener who purchased a 30-acre parcel of land near the family rubber mill in Hamilton Square.

He built a charming bungalow-style home surrounded by plants and flowers collected from his travels to China, Japan, and England, many of which continue to flourish today. The gardens feature more than 1,000 azaleas, nearly 500 rhododendrons, and over 250,000 flowering bulbs that create a vibrant spring display.

The grounds offer walking trails, fish ponds, charming bridges, and gazebos, providing a peaceful natural setting that supports local birds and wildlife. Sayen House and Gardens is a popular location for private events, including weddings and parties, and hosts an annual Azalea Festival every May. It is open daily without charge, welcoming visitors to enjoy its rich horticultural beauty and serene atmosphere.
