Schallodenbach is a quaint rural municipality of around 850 residents in Germany's Rhineland-Palatinate within the Kaiserslautern district, part of the Otterbach-Otterberg Verbandsgemeinde, nestled at 328 meters elevation in the upper Odenbach Valley near the Palatinate Forest.

First documented in 1202 tied to a medieval low castle (Burg Schallodenbach) built by Ritter Johann von Odenbach in the 12th-13th century to control nearby valleys and protect Otterberg Abbey, the site passed to the powerful Sickingen family whose graves like Johann Gottfried von Sickingen's remain in the local chapel.

Shaped by Sickinger feudal rule, Reformation shifts, Thirty Years' War ravages, French Revolutionary occupation, and Bavarian-Prussian transitions, the farming village preserves its neogothic St. Laurentius Church from 1883 amid trails, a model airfield on Elkenknopf hill, and forested serenity.
