Schloss Altjeßnitz
Germany, Germany
Schloss Altjeßnitz is a Baroque manor house built around 1699 in the village of Altjeßnitz, now part of Raguhn-Jeßnitz in Saxony-Anhalt's Anhalt-Bitterfeld district, southeastern Germany.
Originally developed as a noble estate by the Freiherren von Ende family starting with Hans Adam von Ende, it featured an expansive park renowned for Germany's largest surviving Baroque maze from the mid-18th century, complete with hornbeam hedges, a central viewing platform, ponds, and meadows.
Damaged by a 1946 fire and partially demolished in 1975 during East German times, parts were rebuilt in altered form, preserving its historical footprint amid the estate's cultural legacy today.
