Schloss Biebrich
Wiesbaden, Germany, Germany
Schloss Biebrich in Wiesbaden, Germany, is a magnificent Baroque palace built between 1700 and 1750 on the Rhine River's banks as the residence of the princes and dukes of Nassau.
Originally starting as a simple garden pavilion under Prince Georg August Samuel of Nassau-Idstein, it evolved into a grand three-winged structure with a distinctive circular rotunda ballroom, connected galleries, and opulent interiors inspired by Versailles.
Damaged in World War II and restored by the state of Hesse, it now houses administrative offices like the Hessian heritage authority, hosts civil weddings in its rotunda, and features an English landscape park with the annual International Whitsun Riding Tournament.
The palace overlooks the Rhine with scenic gardens designed by Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell, offering a blend of history and modern event space.
