Schloss Birkenfeld
Birkenfeld, Germany, Germany
Schloss Birkenfeld is a neoclassical palace in Birkenfeld, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, constructed between 1819 and 1821 as the residence and administrative seat for the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg's Principality of Birkenfeld.
Designed by architect Johann Wilhelm Leonhard Brofft to replace an older ruined Sponheim castle, it served as the grand duke's lodging during visits and housed government offices under Oldenburg rule until the early 20th century.
