Schloss Bothmer
Klütz, Germany, Germany
Schloss Bothmer is the largest Baroque manor house complex in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, located near Klütz in northern Germany.
Built between 1726 and 1732 by diplomat Count Hans Caspar von Bothmer to designs by architect Johann Friedrich Künnecke, it draws inspiration from Dutch and English country estates, featuring a grand main building, side wings, and an idyllic park reached via the scenic Festonallee avenue.
Remaining in the Bothmer family until 1945, it later served various uses before state ownership and restoration from 2009 to 2015, now open to visitors as a museum showcasing its history, Baroque politics, and ties to the English royal house, with a café and festival events in the gardens.
