Schloss Detzel
Haldensleben, Germany, Germany
Schloss Detzel is a picturesque hunting lodge built in 1844 in Detzel near Haldensleben, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, designed by renowned architect Carl Friedrich Schinkel or possibly based on a sketch by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV for Baron Hermann von Bonin.
Nestled in a scenic oak forest east of the Haldensleben-Satuelle road, it features preserved original interiors like an octagonal paneled room and a turret chamber with wooden ribbed vaulting, surrounded by park-like grounds.
After serving as a home for people with intellectual disabilities from 1864 until 2002, it stood vacant before restoration in 2011-2012 and now functions as a production site for SHP Steriltechnik AG while hosting civil weddings in its historic hunting room or park.
