Schloss Föhren, a former moated castle in Föhren near Trier in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, dates back to Roman-era roots as "Furna" meaning furnace, first mentioned in 1203 as a farmstead owned by Prüm Abbey since 763 with buildings possibly housing a steward.

Fortified into a castle around 1340 under Kuno von Kuntzich, it passed through families like Bassenheim before the Reichsgrafen von Kesselstatt bought it in 1445, holding it continuously for 22 generations, with major Baroque remodeling in 1663 creating a karree layout, three-story corner tower, and connected wings from earlier Gothic structures.

Once surrounded by a moat filled in 1949 and featuring mills for local tithes stored in a 1820 barn, its outbuildings now serve as vacation apartments and event spaces while the private residence remains closed to visitors amid an early 18th-century park.
