Schloss Freudenberg
Wiesbaden, Germany, Germany
Schloss Freudenberg is a neoclassical villa in Wiesbaden-Dotzheim, Germany, built between 1904 and 1905 by Scottish painter James Pitcairn-Knowles and his partner Marie Eugénie Victoire Guérinet to designs by architect Paul Schultze-Naumburg, featuring symmetrical façades, Palladian-inspired risalits, and a spacious entrance hall within a square layout surrounded by a park.
After brief private use, it served as a casino for French forces post-WWI, a hotel annex, Nazi organization site in the 1930s, U.S. military quarters until 1965, and a Pentecostal training center before the city acquired it in 1990 and leased it to an educational group.
Since 1993, it has operated as an interactive "Field of Experience for the Senses and Mind" with over 100 exhibits on light, sound, gravity, and perception, plus a sensory park, blending restoration with art-focused public access.
