Schloss Georgium
Dessau-Roßlau, Germany, Germany
Schloss Georgium is a small neoclassical country house built from 1780 in Dessau-Roßlau, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, commissioned by Prince Johann Georg, younger brother of ruler Leopold III Friedrich Franz, and designed by architect Friedrich Wilhelm von Erdmannsdorff.
Set amid a spacious English landscape park incorporating the natural Beckerbruch wetland with classical pavilions, sculptures, an orangery, and flower house, it forms part of the UNESCO-listed Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom created during Anhalt-Dessau's Enlightenment-era transformation into a "garden realm."
Expanded in the late 19th century and used as a residence until 1945, it now houses the Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie art collection following major structural restoration completed around 2020.
