Schloss Großpaschleben
Osternienburger Land, Germany, Germany
Schloss Großpaschleben is a moated Baroque castle in the village of Großpaschleben, part of Osternienburger Land in Saxony-Anhalt's Anhalt-Bitterfeld district, Germany, first documented in the 11th century with traces of an earlier water fortress.
In 1602, Heinrich von Wuthenau acquired the estate, demolishing the old structure to build this three-story plastered mansion with a hipped roof, cylindrical corner towers topped by onion domes, a polygonal stair turret, and surrounding moat, owned by his family until their 1945 expropriation during Soviet land reforms.
Repurposed as a retirement home in the 1950s, it remains in use today by the Burchard Führer group, alongside a Baroque dovecote, utility buildings, and a protected park featuring a historic baptismal font.
