Schloss Hohenerxleben
Staßfurt, Germany, Germany
Schloss Hohenerxleben is a Renaissance castle in Hohenerxleben, a district of Staßfurt in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, first mentioned in 1205 as a medieval fortress on a hill above the Bode River.
The von Krosigk family rebuilt it in 1560 with a two-wing Renaissance design, adding towers and wings in the 17th and 19th centuries, including a prominent western tower and moat remnants, after years of neglect post-1991.
A 1997 restoration by the Schloss Theatrum Herberge Hohenerxleben Foundation transformed it into a vibrant cultural hub with a theater, hotel, restaurant, artist studio, and event spaces.
