Schloss-Hotel Kittendorf
Kittendorf, Germany, Germany
Schloss-Hotel Kittendorf in Kittendorf, Germany, is a Tudor-style manor house built from 1848 to 1853 by Kammerherr Hans Friedrich von Oertzen to designs by Berlin architect Friedrich Hitzig, a Schinkel pupil inspired by Potsdam's Schloss Babelsberg.
The two-story plastered structure features crenellated attics, a five-story eastern tower, a risalto with balcony portal, and ornate interiors now housing 25 uniquely styled rooms, suites, a Lenné restaurant, Weingewölbe, and orangery amid an English landscape park by Peter Joseph Lenné.
After post-WWII varied uses, it was restored in the 1990s per original plans and opened as a hotel in 1995 by Johann Trettler, offering weddings, events up to 80 guests, and serene Mecklenburgische Seenplatte surroundings with a dammed Peene pond.
