Schloss Mosigkau
Dessau-Roßlau, Germany, Germany
Schloss Mosigkau is a Rococo palace built from 1752 to 1757 in Mosigkau, a district of Dessau-Roßlau in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, as a summer residence for Princess Anna Wilhelmine of Anhalt-Dessau under architect Christian Friedrich Damm, with possible designs influenced by Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff of Sanssouci fame.
This well-preserved late Rococo ensemble features a U-shaped layout with corps de logis, side wings, courtyards, and an adjacent English landscape park transformed around 1805, including orangeries housing 150-year-old citrus plants and a Chinese House at the entrance.
Following the princess's death in 1780, it became a foundation for noble unmarried women until 1945, now operating as a museum showcasing Rococo residential culture, art exhibitions, and concerts within the UNESCO-listed Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom.
