Severely damaged in 1945 during World War II—leaving only outer walls and the chapel intact—it was declared a national cultural monument and meticulously restored from 1995 to 2000 with Rhineland-Palatinate funding, blending original facades with modern interiors for the European Business Academy, Bendorf City Museum, and princely administration.
