Schloss und Park Dieskau
Kabelsketal, Germany, Germany
Schloss und Park Dieskau in Kabelsketal, Germany, is a Renaissance castle built between 1565 and 1625 by Hieronymus von Dieskau on the site of a medieval water castle along the Reide River, later modified in Baroque style and extensively renovated in Neo-Renaissance fashion after 1878.
The irregular four-wing structure surrounds a rectangular courtyard, featuring a polygonal tower, half-timbered upper stories, a preserved late-medieval plank room, and decorative portals. Surrounded by an expansive English-style landscape park from 1778 inspired by Wörlitz, it includes ponds, waterways from the Reidebach stream, mature trees, winding paths, a Chinese Tea House, and statues of Apollo and Flora.
Though a protected cultural heritage site near Halle, recent accounts note the castle's deteriorating condition with limited interior access.
