Schloss Weissenhaus
Germany, Germany
Schloss Weissenhaus, also known as Gut Weißenhaus, is a historic estate in Wangels, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, founded in the early 17th century by noble families Pogwisch and Rantzau before passing to the Counts of Platen-Hallermund in 1739.
A Baroque manor house served as their summer residence with gardens later transformed into an English landscape park, but it was destroyed by fire in 1895 and rebuilt in Neo-Baroque style from 1896 on old foundations, featuring a broad two-story structure with 13 window axes, mansard roof, and a grand courtyard facade highlighted by a relief-ornamented gable bearing the family coat of arms.
Spanning 75 hectares along the Baltic Sea, it was renovated into a luxurious private nature resort in 2014 by owner Jan Henric Buettner, offering 68 unique rooms across 40 historic buildings, a spa, fine dining, and beach club amid natural scenery.
