Schloss Weistropp
Klipphausen, Germany, Germany
Schloss Weistropp is an asymmetrical three-wing castle in Weistropp, part of Klipphausen in Saxony's Meißen district, Germany, blending styles from its 17th-century origins with dominant neoclassical elements after multiple alterations.
A 13th-century defense fortress by the Lords of Miltitz against Slavs evolved into a documented farm in 1413 and knight's estate by 1551, rebuilt as a castle in 1601 by Heinrich von Eckersberg, then expanded in 1661 by the von Gründerode family with north and south wings.
Further remodeled in 1723 under Adolph Freiherr von Seifertitz, it passed through owners like von Tottleben and von Krause before 1945 nationalization for communal uses, falling into ruin until 2014-2016 private restoration into apartments amid preserved outbuildings like the estate's stables.
