Schloss Westerburg, first mentioned in 1192 and likely built earlier, is located in the town of Westerburg in the Westerwald region of Germany.

The castle originated from a 12th-century complex initially owned by the counts of Leiningen and later transferred to the House of Runkel through marriage in the early 13th century. Throughout the Middle Ages, it served as the seat of the lords of Westerburg, who split from the House of Runkel by 1288.

The site features the castle chapel and parts of the northeast corner dating back to the early 13th century, with the great hall built between 1476 and 1483. In the 18th century, the castle was expanded into a schloss, a more palatial residence. Currently, Schloss Westerburg is privately owned and contains a restaurant and a dental institute, serving as a landmark in the town known for its historical and architectural significance.
