Schloss Westerholt in Herten, Germany, is a moated castle first documented in 1193 as the ancestral seat of the Westerholt family, who later became known as Westerholt zu Gysenberg, with its current four-winged structure rebuilt around 1833.

Surrounded by water channels and near Westerholt Forest, the medieval fortress preserves its original defensive moats and hosts art exhibitions, concerts, guided tours, and regional events amid scenic park paths.

Adjacent to the old village of Westerholt, featuring renovated half-timbered houses from the 17th century and the preserved chapel Schlosskapelle St. Martinus from a 1310 church, it now operates partly as a hotel blending history with modern hospitality.
