Schloss Wörlitz
Oranienbaum-Wörlitz, Germany, Germany
Schloss Wörlitz is a pioneering neoclassical palace in Oranienbaum-Wörlitz, Germany, constructed between 1769 and 1773 by architect Friedrich Wilhelm von Erdmannsdorff for Prince Franz of Anhalt-Dessau as a public "model house" inspired by English country estates and ancient architecture.
Nestled in the UNESCO-listed Wörlitzer Park, it features a columned portico, preserved original interiors with Italian paintings, Dutch masters, antique sculptures, Wedgwood ceramics, and chinoiserie rooms reflecting Enlightenment ideals after a 20-year restoration completed around 2020.
