Schlossberg - Ehem. Standort der Geisburg
Burrweiler, Germany, Germany
Geisburg on Schlossberg hill near Burrweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, was a short-lived 14th-century hill castle first mentioned in 1372 when Emperor Charles IV pledged it to Heinrich von Fleckenstein, likely built mid-century by the von Dahn family as a Ganerbenburg with associated villages Burrweiler, Flemlingen, and Wernersberg. Never rebuilt after probable destruction in the 1525 Peasants' War despite 1544 family partition plans, its stones were quarried for local use including a new Burrweiler palace, leaving only a bergfried base, neck ditch, and terrace now landscaped as a garden with valley views.
