Seiwa-En is a 14-acre Japanese strolling garden located within the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, United States, and is considered the largest traditional Japanese garden in North America.

Dedicated in 1977, the garden was designed by Dr. Koichi Kawana, a renowned landscape architect who integrated both traditional Japanese elements and native Missouri plants into its layout.

The expansive landscape features a large, irregularly shaped lake, traditional bridges, islands, a tea house, and symbolic plantings such as cherry trees and Japanese maples, which were gifts including one from the Emperor of Japan.

Inspired by centuries of Japanese gardening tradition, Seiwa-En reflects principles of harmony, peace, and reverence for nature, providing visitors with serene paths, contemplative spaces, and scenic vistas that evoke the essence of a Japanese wet-stroll garden while also honoring the friendship between St. Louis and Japan.
