Sesame Place San Diego in Chula Vista, California, opened in March 2022 as the West Coast's only Sesame Street-themed park on the former Aquatica San Diego site, blending 7 dry rides like Super Grover's Box Car Derby junior coaster, Abby's Fairy Flight chair swing, Sunny Day Carousel, and Sesame Street Soar and Spin balloon ride with an interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood replica including the iconic 123 Stoop.
It retains 11 reimagined water attractions such as a massive 500,000-gallon wave pool, body slides, tube slides, family raft ride, lazy river, and splash pads perfect for young kids, plus live character shows, the award-winning Party Parade, and meet-and-greets with Elmo, Cookie Monster, and friends.
Certified Autism Center with family-friendly fun for all ages, it operated seasonally through 2025 before closing for enhancements and reopening in spring 2026, drawing families for rides, splashes, and furry friend interactions near San Diego.
