Sjøsanden is a long, gently curving sandy beach in the town of Mandal, in Lindesnes municipality in southern Norway, situated along the Mannefjorden just south of the Mandalselva river mouth and inside the Furulunden nature park.
The beach stretches about 800 metres and is considered one of Norway’s most famous and frequently awarded beaches, often praised for its soft golden sand, clear water, and easy access directly from Mandal town centre.
It is popular with both tourists and locals throughout the year, offering a seaside promenade, free parking at one end, and nearby walking paths, toilets, and small holiday accommodations, as well as quieter neighbouring beaches such as Kanelstranda, Lille Banken, and Store Banken that provide more shelter from wind and waves.
