Sporthalle Dwasieden
Sassnitz, Germany, Germany
Sporthalle Dwasieden in Sassnitz, Germany, is a modern multi-purpose sports hall located on the grounds of the former Volksmarine site near the ruins of Schloss Dwasieden, a 19th-century Neo-Renaissance mansion built in 1873-1877 by banker Adolph von Hansemann and demolished in 1948.
Originally part of a naval training facility established in 1935 for distance measurement and ship artillery schools, the area transitioned post-reunification into recreational use with handball fields, smaller halls, and connections to the adjacent Dwasieden sports field featuring a 400m track.
Recently renovated to meet current standards, it supports year-round training for SG Empor Sassnitz e.V., school sports, and community events amid the scenic Dwasiedener Wald forest.
