Storsølnkletten is a prominent 1,827-meter mountain in Alvdal Municipality, Innlandet county, Norway, located about 20 km southwest of Alvdal village and easily recognizable by its distinctive saddle shape with a lower northwest summit called Spisskletten at 1,690 meters. Situated in the Alvdal Vestfjell highland area, it overlooks landscapes of sparse bedrock like sparagmite, granite, and gabbro supporting low vegetation such as mountain avens, birch scrub, and willow, historically tied to ancient transport routes, seter summer farms like Breisjøseter from the 1600s, and industrial remnants including iron extraction sites from the 1600s, early copper mines, and Lovise Hytte smelting operations linked to Røros Copperworks. The peak features Viking-era graves, medieval activity traces, and later tourist interest from the 1840s onward, with hiking routes involving easy scrambling amid a mosaic of cultural heritage sites now protected for preservation.
