Torre dei Gorani is one of Milan’s oldest surviving medieval towers, dating back to the 11th century. Located in the historic city center on Via Gorani, it is a rare reminder of the many noble towers that once dominated Milan’s medieval skyline. The tower originally formed part of the Palazzo Gorani, a noble residence belonging to the influential Gorani family. Most of the palace was destroyed during World War II bombing in 1943, leaving the tower, a Baroque portal, and a few sections of the surrounding walls as the main surviving elements. Built from exposed brick and decorated with elegant arched windows on its upper levels, the tower is an important example of medieval architecture. Today, it stands as a historic landmark that reflects Milan’s long history and preserves a visible link to the city’s medieval past.
