The Tundavala Gap, located near Lubango in Huila Province, Angola, is a spectacular natural canyon on the Serra da Leba escarpment. It stands about 2,200 meters (7,200 feet) above sea level, with cliffs dropping approximately 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) down to the plain below, offering breathtaking panoramic views spanning thousands of square kilometers towards the southwest.

The gap is part of the Great Escarpment of Southern Africa and serves as the western edge of the Humpata Plateau. It is a popular tourist spot known for its dramatic rock formations, unique flora and fauna, and opportunities for hiking and nature observation.

Tundavala Gap is also culturally significant, having been used historically for strategic defense and more recently recognized by the Angolan government as a cultural landscape and one of Angola’s natural wonders. Visitors often come to enjoy sunsets and the serene environment amid the mountainous landscape.
