Uherský Brod is a town in the Zlín Region of Czechia with about 16,000 inhabitants. It is one of the oldest towns in southeastern Moravia, first mentioned in written records in 1030 and 1048, with its location near important trade routes fostering its growth and importance.

It was promoted to a royal town in 1272 by King Ottokar II, and its name means "Hungarian ford," reflecting its position close to the border with Hungary. Over the centuries, Uherský Brod has endured invasions, wars, and epidemics but recovered and developed further with industrialization in the 19th century, including the arrival of the railway.

The town is notable for its well-preserved historic center, protected as an urban monument zone, and features important architectural landmarks such as the Baroque Church of the Immaculate Conception and the Dominican convent. It has also been home to a significant Jewish community since at least the 13th century.

The local economy includes manufacturing, notably a firearms factory, and the town maintains cultural and educational institutions, including a museum dedicated to John Amos Comenius, a philosopher and pedagogue associated with the town.
