Žeranovice is a small municipality and village located in the Kroměříž District within the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It has a population of about 800 people. The village sits at an altitude of around 245 meters near Hrádek hill, where a settlement existed during the Neolithic age.

The first written record of Žeranovice dates back to 1297, though some sources suggest an earlier mention. The village was historically owned by various noble families, such as the Šternberks, Rožmitáls, and the Seilern family, who held it from the 18th century until the domain was abolished in 1924. Žeranovice developed as part of the Moravian region with economic and social life centered around a small chateau built by the noble owners.

The local church, dedicated to Saint Lawrence of Rome, reflects the village’s religious heritage. The population has fluctuated over time but remained relatively stable, maintaining its character as a rural community with historical roots and genealogical records available from the 18th century onward.
