The University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton, Kentucky, was founded in 1925 on 400 acres assembled by local farmers and leaders who sought to advance agricultural research and education in the region.

Over nearly a century, the center has expanded to cover about 1,652 acres and has become a hub for innovation in areas such as no-till and double-crop farming, integrated pest management, and improvements in beef cattle and various crop productions including tobacco and fruit.

Despite suffering significant damage from a tornado in 2021 that destroyed most of its buildings, the center continues to rebuild and enhance its facilities with a focus on serving Kentucky's farming community through cutting-edge research, outreach, and education. It operates as a vital resource for farmers, faculty, and students, helping to improve sustainable agriculture practices and strengthen the agricultural economy of the region.
