Vinzelberg
Germany, Germany
Vinzelberg is a small village district of the Hanseatic city of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, located between Stendal and Gardelegen along the upper Uchte River amid gently rolling terrain rising toward the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide, with the Tanger River springing up nearby.
First potentially mentioned around 1006 in historical chronicles, it features a neoromanische brick church built in 1866-67 on Romanesque foundations by Bertha von Kröcher, who also ran a children's home and orphanage there in the late 19th century.
Owned by the noble von Kröcher family until post-WWII land reforms, it includes a landscaped Schlosspark with old trees, a vineyard, paths, and ponds, preserving rural Altmark heritage with late Roman ceramics found locally.
