Waldecksches Jagdschloss
Geilnau, Germany, Germany
Waldecksches Jagdschloss in Geilnau, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, is an 18th-century hunting lodge built in 1797 by the Princes of Anhalt-Bernburg next to a mineral spring reactivated in 1790 along the Lahn River. This three-story structure features a cellar-like ground floor with a wide double staircase leading to the upper levels, shingled top floor, and a roof with segmented gables, serving originally as a noble retreat amid scenic surroundings. Remodeled inside during 1966-1967, it now functions partly as an artist's studio and residence for painter Thomas Kohl, with exterior views only available to visitors today.
