Wave Hill Public Garden & Cultural Center is a 28-acre estate located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, New York, overlooking the Hudson River with views of the Palisades.

The property dates back to 1843 when the original Wave Hill House was built as a rural retreat for William Lewis Morris and his family. Over the years, it was owned by notable figures like publisher William Henry Appleton, who expanded the house and gardens in the late 19th century, and financier George Walbridge Perkins, who shaped much of the current landscape and added extensive landscaping and recreational facilities in the early 20th century.

Wave Hill became a cultural and horticultural landmark after the Perkins-Freeman family donated it to the City of New York in 1960, opening it as a public garden and cultural center in 1965. Today, it is known for its beautifully maintained gardens, greenhouses, and woodlands, as well as its art exhibitions, concerts, and educational programs that connect visitors with nature and the arts.
