Weteritzer Schloss
Gardelegen, Germany, Germany
Weteritzer Schloss is a classical-style manor house built around 1831 in the village of Weteritz near Gardelegen in Saxony-Anhalt's Altmark region, Germany, commissioned by Friedrich Wilhelm von Alvensleben after the family relocated from Burg Gardelegen (Isenschnibbe).
Surrounded by a scenic landscape park influenced by architect Peter Joseph Lenné, it features exotic trees, springs, artesian wells, and dendrological treasures, originally part of an estate with a water mill, brickyard, and steam distillery powered by the district's first steam engine.
Sold in 1857 to Carl Heinrich Theodor Roth due to financial decline, the family managed it until 1945 expropriation, and today it remains a local landmark, recently marketed for sale as a historic property.
