Wild West City
Byram Township, New Jersey, United States
Wild West City in Byram Township, New Jersey, opened in spring 1957 after investors built a replica western town modeled on Dodge City, Kansas, starting construction in fall 1956 on local land to capitalize on post-war tourism and Wild West TV popularity.
Acquired in 1964 by Michael and Mary Stabile as a short-term flip, it became a beloved family business run by their descendants, the Stabile-Benson family since 1963, featuring immersive Old West streets with live stunt shows, gunfights, train robberies, saloon performances, museums, shops, pony rides, gold panning, and kid-friendly attractions like a petting zoo and stagecoach rides.
Spanning decades of nostalgic fun amid Sussex County's lakes and resorts, this seasonal theme park draws families for cowboy adventures, historical reenactments, and holiday events, preserving frontier spirit just north of Netcong.
