Wüstenjerichow
Germany, Germany
Wüstenjerichow is a small village and former municipality now part of the town of Möckern in Saxony-Anhalt's Jerichower Land district, Germany, located about 19 km southeast of Burg near the Möckern-Magdeburgerforth nature reserve.
First documented in 1285 as "Gargowe" and adopting its current name by 1459, it merged with the Waldrogäsen estate in 1928 to form Rogäsen-Jerichow, renamed Wüstenjerichow in 1964, before full incorporation into Möckern on January 1, 2010, making it once the district's tiniest independent community with around 135 residents.
The rural area features agricultural lands, fishing spots, and historical ties to Prussian administrative changes, with no major landmarks but proximity to Elbe River landscapes.
