Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein is a tiny, doubly landlocked principality in the Central European Alps, bordered by Switzerland and Austria. It covers 160 square kilometers and is the fourth smallest country in Europe, with about 40,000 inhabitants. The capital is Vaduz, and the largest municipality is Schaan.
The country is a semi-constitutional monarchy led by the prince of Liechtenstein. Liechtenstein is known for its Alpine landscapes, high standard of living, and thriving financial sector. It is not a member of the European Union, but is part of the Schengen Area and has very close economic ties with Switzerland, sharing its currency, the Swiss franc.
