The Vaduz Cathedral, also known as St. Florin Cathedral, is the main Roman Catholic church in Vaduz and the spiritual center of the Archdiocese of Vaduz. Designed by architect Friedrich von Schmidt, the neo-Gothic church was built between 1869 and 1874 on the site of earlier medieval foundations and is dedicated to Florinus of Remüs, a 9th-century saint. Originally serving as a parish church, it was elevated to cathedral status in 1997 when the Archdiocese of Vaduz was established. Its tall spire, elegant stone façade, stained-glass windows, and peaceful interior make it one of Liechtenstein’s most important religious and architectural landmarks. Located near the center of Vaduz, the cathedral is also closely associated with the princely family and hosts major national and royal ceremonies. Beside the cathedral lies the princely crypt, the resting place of several members of the House of Liechtenstein, adding to its cultural and historical significance.
