Yemen
Yemen is located in the southwestern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. The capital is Sanaa, although Aden also serves as an important administrative center. Yemen covers an area of about 528,000 square kilometers and has a population of around 31 million. The official language is Arabic, and the country is mostly mountainous and arid.
Yemen's modern history has been marked by unification in 1990, followed by instability and civil war. Economic hardship and humanitarian crises have affected millions. Yemen is recognized for its rich cultural heritage and ancient historical sites.
