Abisko National Park, located in Swedish Lapland near the border with Norway, is one of Sweden’s most famous national parks.

Established in 1909, it protects a spectacular Arctic landscape of mountains, birch forests, alpine meadows, rivers, and the shores of Lake Torneträsk, one of Scandinavia’s largest mountain lakes. The park is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty and excellent opportunities for hiking, especially along the famous Kungsleden (King’s Trail), which begins in Abisko.

Visitors can explore dramatic features such as the Abisko Canyon, mountain valleys, and rich Arctic plant life. Abisko National Park is also considered one of the best places in the world to view the Northern Lights thanks to its clear skies and minimal light pollution. During summer, visitors can experience the midnight sun, while winter brings snowy landscapes and unforgettable Arctic scenery.
