Alcalalí Tower
Alcalalí, Spain, Spain
Alcalalí Tower is a 15th-century medieval defensive structure located in the main square of Alcalalí, a small village in Alicante province within Spain's Valencian Community, surrounded by the scenic Vall de Pop amid almond groves and mountains.
Originally constructed as a watchtower and bastion to protect against pirate attacks and bandits, it once served multiple roles including a residence, grain storage, and prison with a dungeon, standing as the village's tallest building until the adjacent church was built.
Now restored and functioning as a museum displaying 16th-century etchings and robes, it offers visitors panoramic viewpoints of the valley through guided or self-access tours arranged via the nearby town hall.
