Quart Towers
Valencia, Spain, Spain
Quart Towers, or Torres de Quart, are twin 15th-century Gothic gate towers in Valencia, Spain, forming one of the last surviving entrances to the city's medieval walls built between 1441 and 1493 by architects like Pere Bonfill.
Designed for defense with robust stone construction, narrow passages, and machicolations, they bear visible scars from French cannon fire during the 1808 Peninsular War and later served as prisons before city wall demolitions spared them.
Climbable via 200 steps, they offer panoramic city views and stand as prime examples of late Gothic military architecture alongside the nearby Serranos Towers.
