Torres de Serranos
Valencia, Spain, Spain
Torres de Serranos are a pair of imposing 14th-century Gothic gate towers in Valencia, Spain, constructed between 1392 and 1398 by architect Pere Balaguer as the main northern entrance to the medieval city walls.
Crafted from robust limestone with polygonal bases, a central pointed archway, and decorative carvings like Saint George slaying the dragon, they combined defense with prestige during Valencia's Golden Age, later serving as a noble prison until 1887.
Spared from 19th-century wall demolitions, the climbable towers now offer stunning panoramic views and exemplify Valencian Gothic architecture alongside the Quart Towers.
