Featuring a quadrangular Torre del Homenaje with an interior access gate, robust murallas, and an aljibe cistern—both declared Historic-Artistic Monuments in 1931—it endured repeated conquests by Fernando III, Pedro I, and definitively by the Catholic Monarchs in 1486 after a multi-day siege, pivotal to Granada's final surrender.
