The Alexandrov Kremlin in Alexandrov, Vladimir Oblast, Russia, served as a grand 16th-century royal residence known as Alexandrovskaya Sloboda, initially developed around 1508-1513 by Grand Prince Vasily III with Italian and Russian master builders creating palaces, temples, and economic structures rivaling Moscow's Kremlin in splendor.

It became the de facto oprichnina capital under Ivan the Terrible from 1565 to 1571, site of court intrigues, massacres like the Novgorodians' slaughter, and family tragedies including the death of his son Ivan, featuring key survivors like the white-stone Trinity Cathedral (1513) with ornate portals and frescoes, 16th-century Intercession Church as the tsar's house temple, Crucifixion bell tower (1570s) concealing an older Church of Metropolitan Alexey, royal chambers, and later 17th-century gate churches and cell buildings.

After Ivan's departure, it declined into a minor settlement, gaining city status in 1778, and now operates as the Alexandrov Sloboda State Museum-Reserve preserving its medieval architecture and oprichnina history.
