Alnarp Manor & Parks
Alnarp, Sweden, Sweden
Alnarp Manor, also known as Alnarp Castle or Alnarps Slott, stands in Alnarp, Lomma Municipality, Scania, Sweden, as a French Renaissance-style building constructed in 1862 to serve as the main facility for the Agricultural Institute of Alnarp.
Originally part of a 12th-century estate owned by Danish nobility, the site passed to Swedish control after the 1658 Treaty of Roskilde and evolved into a hub for agricultural education under the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).
Surrounding the manor is the expansive 26-hectare Alnarp Park, designed from 1859 in an English landscape style with winding paths, diverse trees from every continent, gardens, and rich biodiversity supporting birds and bats, all created to support academic research and teaching.
