Bánov is a village and municipality in the Zlín Region of southeastern Czechia, located near the Slovak border at the foothills of the White Carpathian Mountains.

It has a long history, with the first written mention dating to 1091, when the future Czech ruler Břetislav II stayed at a fortified settlement in the area. The village developed around an important medieval stronghold that later became a castle guarding the border with Hungary.

Although the castle disappeared during the Hussite Wars in the 15th century, its remains and history continue to be an important part of the local heritage. Bánov is also known for its archaeological significance, with evidence of settlement dating back to the Bronze Age and the Great Moravian period. 

One of the area's most notable discoveries is the “Bánov Treasure,” a remarkable collection of Iron Age jewelry and artifacts. Today, Bánov is a peaceful community of about 2,200 residents. Its main landmark is the Church of Saint Martin, a Baroque church with historic bells, while the surrounding countryside offers attractive scenery, hiking opportunities, and views of the White Carpathians.
