Bezdružice is a historic town in the Tachov district of Czechia, first mentioned in records from 1227. Initially, it was centered around a small stone castle built during the ownership of knight Bušek in the mid-14th century.

The village gained market town status in 1459. Bezdružice faced many hardships, including a deadly plague in the 16th and early 19th centuries, destruction by Swedish troops during the Thirty Years' War in 1646, and a significant fire in 1809.

It was later acquired by the princely Löwenstein family in the early 18th century and underwent Baroque-style reconstruction. The arrival of the railway in the late 19th century helped modernize the town, but the population declined during and after World War II due to the expulsion of German inhabitants. Bezdružice lost its town status in 1949 but regained it in 2006.

Today, it is known for its historical architecture, including a chateau that reflects Renaissance and Baroque influences, and it serves as a cultural and historical center in the region.
